Councils, Creeds, and Confessions

“…we must work to stay grounded in the truth of God’s word and the councils and creeds of the early church help us to do just that.”

Starting on January 10th we will begin a 5-week study on the early Christian Church.  We will specifically be studying together the first councils and creeds of the church, which we continue to confess today as the bedrock of our faith.  The church has always faced the challenge of staying true to the “faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3) in the midst of the ever-changing spirits of the age.  Every generation has its own fashionable ideas about God and the world, but we must work to stay grounded in the truth of God’s word and the councils and creeds of the early church help us to do just that.  Come join us on Wednesday nights as we engage in this most important topic through the video teachings of Dr. Ryan Reeves, Professor of Historical Theology at Gordon Conwell Seminary and group discussion of these most important teachings.

As always, come for dinner at 6 pm in the Fellowship Room and stay for our study, which begins at 6:45.
