A note from our pastor about this change in schedule in fall of 2016
Dear Church of Our Savior Family,
I am very excited to announce that in September we will be starting a new Sunday morning schedule. For the past two years we have struggled to create meaningful fellowship time on Sundaymornings. As such, there are many who attend the 9:00 service who do not know those who attend the 11:00 service. Because we value the Acts 2:42 model, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”, there is a real need to create a meaningful space and time for fellowship. In hopes of fulfilling this need we are going to move to the following service schedule starting on September 4th
9:30-10:30 – 1st Service
10:30-11:00 – Fellowship on the Chapel Patio (refreshments provided)
11:00-12:15 – 2nd Service
We believe by pushing back the first service and creating a thirty minute window between the services there will be a wonderful cross over between those leaving the 9:30 service and those arriving for the 11:00 service. As we all know these changes will only be effective if we take advantage of them and engage with one another as one family and one body of our Savior Jesus Christ.
The obvious casualty in this new model is our Sunday morning Adult and Children’s Education programs. After discussing this new model with our yearly planning team we all believed that our weekly schedule at Church of Our Savior provides many opportunities to study and grow in God’s grace through His word (the apostle teachings) and the prayers. On Sunday September 11th we will have a more complete presentation of all the ministries we are engaged with as well as an opportunity for you all to get connected in new and wonderful ways. I am excited and encouraged about all that the Lord has in store for us this fall and into the new year, and, as always, I welcome your questions and concerns.
Yours in Christ,
