Bible Text: Jonah 4:1-3 | Preacher: David Ball | Series: Jonah, Trinitytide 2018 | In this reading from Jonah, the prophet complains that God’s forgiveness is so unbearably good that Jonah himself would rather die than be a part of administering it to the evil city of Ninevah. Senior Pastor David Ball explains that Jonah was not running from God, but rather from God’s unfathomable grace. Jonah knew if the city repented that God would forgive all that came before. That so offended Jonah, he didn’t want to be part of it. And God’s costly grace still saves and offends today.
