Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 13 | Preacher: David Ball | Series: Trinitytide 2019 | We live in the age of social media. It is estimated that over 42% of the worlds population is connected through some form of social media. 68% of American adults are registered Facebook users. Social media whether we like it or not has become a normal part of 21st century life. For all it’s plusses and minuses social media has certainly played a key role in exposing the deepest realities of human nature. The truth is we are all extremely narcissistic. We have an excessive need for people to recognize our lives. The reason is because at the core of our nature we seek after our own profit or advantage. All the world’s problem’s can be traced back to the reality of our sinful hearts. 1 Corinthians 13:5 teaches us a better way to live and that way is through the Agape love of God. God’s love does seek after its own profit or advantage, but rather the profit and advantage of other people. When we receive His love for us it has the power to turn our self-seeking hearts away from ourselves and towards other people. Come listen to the message of God’s love for us and experience its power in your own life.
